With a diverse background in banking and entrepreneurship, LeFever is well qualified to educate community pharmacies on how to increase profitability by controlling costs. With his experience as an adjunct professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy’s Institute for Innovative Pharmacy Practices, LeFever understands community pharmacies’ unique business positions in the market. LeFever is a national leader in the development of practical financial programs and training for the independent business community. He has a passion for helping independent enterprises, like yours, develop practical financial skills and decision-making tools.
David Balto
Legislative Expertise, J.D.
Course: A Washington Perspective on Pharmacy Challenges
David Balto is an industry-leading expert on competition policy as it pertains to health care, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and more. As an antitrust attorney, he has represented pharmacies in antitrust matters before the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission, particularly in raising competitive concerns about the conduct of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). He has also testified before Congress and state legislatures on health care competition issues and the egregious practices of health insurers and PBMs. During his session, Balto will educate attendees on the ongoing legislative, regulatory and court battles relating to pharmacies and PBMs, highlight future pharmacy advocacy efforts, and more.
Tony De Nicola

Course: Managing Ownership Transition in Today’s Rapidly Changing Environment
Tony De Nicola currently serves as the president of Buy-Sellapharmacy.com, a consulting firm that addresses the issues of evaluating, appraising, buying and selling pharmacies throughout the country. The firm provides objective advice to pharmacy owners on transition planning, the development of an exit strategy for existing owners, purchasing a pharmacy for first-time buyers and acquiring multiple pharmacy locations. During his seminar, De Nicola will share current, real world updates on the issues surrounding the market value of community pharmacies and the process of selling a successful community pharmacy.
