2016 Adult Immunization Schedule Published by CDC
February 8, 2016
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) released the 2016 adult immunization schedule Feb. 1.
Each year, ACIP approves the schedule of vaccines for health care professionals to recommend for adults ages 19 and older.
Changes in the 2016 adult immunization schedule were also approved by the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
Updates to the schedule include:
- An interval change for pneumococcal vaccination
- A new meningococcal serogroup B vaccine
- A nine-valent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine
The 2016 adult immunization schedules are available for download.
