January 4, 2016

Pharmacists ranked second, only behind nurses, in Gallup’s Honesty and Integrity survey released Dec. 21, 2015.

This annual survey measures the public’s trust of various professions. This is the thirteenth straight year that pharmacists have placed in the top three in the survey.

Sixty-eight percent of respondents said they believed pharmacists’ honesty and ethical standards to be “very high” or “high,” while 85 percent of respondents said nurses, the top ranked profession, had “very high” or “high” honesty and ethical standards. Medical doctors ranked third followed by high school teachers.

Gallup conducted telephone interviews for the survey with 824 adults living in the U.S. from Dec. 2 – 6, 2015.
