When was the last time you set goals for your pharmacy? If it’s been a few years, now is the time to get back to it.
Setting new goals means you have to know what you want. You also need to be clear, specific and realistic as you set a timeline for when it needs to be done.
Here are some tips on how to help you set goals this year:
Reflect on past goals
Do you want to expand on goals you had in past years? Decide whether you’d like to stick with the old or go with new goals for your pharmacy.
Be sure to have goals that are both short- and long-term
Write up a plan for completing your long-term goals. Even the little victories throughout the year can help your pharmacy’s long-term goals. If your long-term goal is to improve the store’s appearance, schedule small tasks each month to be done, such as cleaning or redesigning.
Figure out realistic timelines for your pharmacy
Don’t set goals that are impossible. It will only make you and coworkers frustrated and stressed. Set goals within reach, that way they’ll still create motivation to improve without targets they can’t attain.
Your goals should motivate you and your employees
Setting goals can be fun! Have you ever considered offering incentives or rewards for you or your staff if your pharmacy meets its goals? You can boost your pharmacy’s morale and help encourage teams to work together more effectively.
Having trouble thinking up ideas? Here are some tips:
- If you’d like to sell specific front-end products, set a goal. For instance, try running limited time promotions throughout the next year.
- Reach out to the community on social media. Share your own content or try running ads.
Have fun with it all! When your audience sees how friendly your pharmacy is, along with the great tips and promotions you offer, they’ll tell their friends and family.
