Do you plan goals to start out each day in your pharmacy? If not, you really should. When you have a plan, it helps with prioritizing tasks. It also reduces the chance of procrastination and ups your productivity. This is why you should write down your goals each morning. Whether it’s a notebook, planner, or your phone, make it your morning ritual.
Here are some daily habits that can help you boost your pharmacy’s success:
Start each day with a plan and know your goals.
Perhaps your goals include having a morning pow-wow with your staff to pump them up for a successful day, or you want to review a new compound formula or read about a new medication that’s on the market. Small daily wins can improve your pharmacy because they help prioritize tasks, reduces procrastination, and increases productivity.
Congratulate an employee on something they accomplished
Giving your employees a little recognition can really boost morale in your pharmacy. It can also foster a positive work environment. Make it a daily habit to acknowledge one of your employees for something they did well that day. You can make a difference just by telling them, “Thank you” or “Keep up the great work!”
Send a special thank you to one of your patients each day
Write a thank-you card and send it to a patient who has made an impact on your pharmacy. A handwritten card will make their day…and yours!
Change something in your pharmacy every day
It doesn’t matter what it is, just make a small change. For instance, reorganize a shelf, change up an aisle, or put up a new display.
Maintain Excellent Customer Service:
Greet customers with a warm smile and make them feel valued. Ask them about their needs and offer personalized recommendations, and don’t forget to follow up on prescriptions.
Keep Your Inventory Updated and Organized:
To prevent shortages in stock, track medication stock levels daily. Also, be sure to rotate products as to avoid expired medications, and regularly assess demand trends and adjust the ordering accordingly.
Engage With Your Community:
Build relationships with local healthcare providers. Then, start offering health education or wellness events in your pharmacy and encourage customer feedback to improve your pharmacy services.
Support and Motivate Your Team:
Keep open communication at all times. Provide training on new medications or procedures, and be sure to recognize hard work.
When you make small changes over time, it can lead to amazing improvements in efficiency, happier customers, and keeps the momentum going. Come up with some of your own daily habits. The more you make the small tasks better, the more you’ll build your pharmacy’s success.
